Interactive Art with Six-Forty by Four-Eighty

Zigelbaum + Coelho, is a collaboration between Jamie Zigelbaum and Marcelo Coelho. The two collaborated on “Six-Forty by Four-Eighty” which was exhibited at the prestigious Design Basel conference and awarded honors from I.D. Magazine, and Are Electronica.

“Six-Forty by Four-Eighty” uses dozens of small digital tiles to create novel interactions. The tiles communicate through a transparent and conductive material laminated to the top surface of the tile. When a user touches two tiles, they communicate through the body of the person, which creates a magical interaction.

I was contacted to help with the construction of a modular stainless steel wall. The wall is composed of tiles, which can be assembled on location and disassembled for transportation. I was involved in the project on multiple occasions and locations including the W hotel opening in Taipei Taiwan, and events surrounding fashion week in NYC.
